When painting with Farrow & Ball paint there are a few factors you should know.

The paint we used in the picture above is Farrow & Ball Estate Emulsion which is a clay based emulsion. This is a different animal from normal acrylic paints. By default Farrow & Ball is the most eco friendly paint on the market because of the clay base. Also the pigments in the colours are richer. It is noteworthy to add that Farrow & Ball cannot be colour matched to another manufacturer of paint reliably because well, one is paint and one is clay.
Our customers tend to really appreciate the limited colour pallet Farrow & Ball has to offer instead of being overwhelmed by a colour book with over 3000 colours. The Estate Emulsion comes in premixed colours and should be gently stirred before painting as they don’t shake it in a paint shaker for you.
Farrow & Ball isn’t for everyone however, it comes at a premium price as one of the most expensive paints on the market. Also the Estate Emulsion is a flat finish (that we think is beautiful) that isn’t the most durable if you have kids and pets. Farrow & Ball does make an eggshell version called Modern Emulsion that is washable.
At Court-Hampton Painting we feel that the price point between the top line paint of the competition and Farrow & Ball isn’t as big of a stretch as it used to be. If you want a Farrow & Ball colour don’t bother going through the disappointment of trying to colour match to a cheaper paint, just eat the cost and start your painting project with Farrow & Ball.
When painting with Farrow & Ball Court-Hampton Painting chose Off White for the colour on the walls in the picture above.
Our client loves it!
